Kendriya Vidalaya Kapurthala Cantt.

1	Kendriya Vidyalaya Kapurthala is in Defence Sector and provides education on the CBSE based syllabus to children of all transferable central govt. employees including defence personnel and other para military forces, ex-servicemen, children of employees of state govt. transferable and non-transferable and of employees of autonomous/ public sector undertaking of central and state govt. and general public.
2	The priority categories for seeking admission to Class - I and above are determined as under :
	Category-1 :	Children of transferable Central Govt. employees including ex-servicemen
	Category-2	Children of non-transferable Central Govt. employees including ex-servicemen
	Category-3	Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector undertaking/institutes of Higher Learning of the Govt.of India.
	Category-4	Children of transferable State Govt. employees.
	Category-5	Children of non-transferable employees of State Govt.
	Category-6	Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies/Public Sector under taking /institutes of Higher Learning of State Govt.
	Category-7	Children from any other category.

Age Eligibility

The children attaining tha age cf 4 years as on 30th September are eligible for admission to pre-primary class. Children attaining the minimum age of 5 years as on 30th September, are eligible for admission to class I.The age limit with subsequent classes will be reckoned with reference to 30 September, with prospective increase e.g. a child completing the age of 6 years is eligible for admission to class 11 and so on. The upperage limit is fixed maximum plus 2 years, which is further relaxed by 2 years in case of handicapped children.

Proof Of Age

For Class I the only acceptable proof of age is the certificate of birth issued by the authority competent to register births viz Notified Area Committee/Gram Panchayat/Municipal Corporation and other similar bodies at the place of the birth of the child. Certified extracts about the date of birth from the official records of village Panchayat or from the service records of the Defence Personnel, Photocopy of Part 11 order will also be accepted.The date of birth recorded in the transfer certificate issued by the school recognised by the state Education Department is also acceptable.Date of Birth once got recorded by the parents at the time of admission in KV will not be allowed to change.

FOR OTHER CLASSES:

Date of Birth based on the valid TC/School Leaving Certificate from the recognised institution duly countersigned by the District Education Officer will be accepted.

ADMISSION TEST

Criterian for admission to Class - 1 is the number of transfers, the parents has undergone during the last 7 years i.e. w.e.f. 1-4-97 onwards, or in other words, the parents having more transfers will get prefernece over those having NIL or lesser number of transfers.

Candidates qualifying the admission test for admission to class-11 and above will be considered, based on the priority categories set forth as referred to above, subject to avilability of seats.

RESERVATION

15%, 7-1/2% seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates and 3% seats are reserved horizontally for physically handicapped candidates in each category.. Documental evidences belonging to SC/ST/PH community has to be produced certified by competent authority.

EXEMPTION

There is no tuition fee upto Class XII Girls. SC/ST students and wards of KV staff are exempted from the payment of Tuition Fee only

FEE CONCESSION

Tuition Fee concession (Full/Half) is also available to the following students.
1. SC/ST
2. Wards of KV employees
3. Brother/Sister concession (half to the younger one).

DOCUMENS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION:

1 . Certificate of Age/Date of Birth.
2. Certificate of SC/STtPhysically Handicapped if applicable.
3. Transfer Certificate issued by a recognised School and counter signed by D.E.O., if applicable 2nd onwards.
4. Basic Pay Certificate of Parents if applicable.

Withdrawals

At least three days notice in writing on a prescribed form is to be given duly signed by the parent before withdrawing a student from the School. School leaving certificate is ordinarily issued within the three days of application on clearance of all dues of the school. Until his name is formally withdrawn the student shall be liable to pay all dues of the Vidyalaya.
